Our Residents

This is a partial list but includes many of our most recognizable characters...

Bindi

Bindi was the first pig we adopted, back in 2014. She's the "top hog" on site - bosses everyone around, keeps order. Pigs are pack animals and she's the top of the heap.

Popo

Popo started his life in New York City, of all places, and was overfed to the point of being morbidly obese. Thanks to the great people at Pig Placement Network and Ross Mill Farm, Popo lost the weight and had surgery to remove the excess skin around his face so he could see again. We adopted him in 2018 and he's now a svelte and happy boy!

Wilbur

Wilbur was surrendered by a loving family who could no longer keep him. He had spent most of his life indoors, but has taken to the outdoors quite nicely. He grazes most of the day and has his own stall in the barn because he's a bit of a loner.

Sandy Duncan

Sandy is a very special chicken who even has her own Instagram! She only has 1 eye and was in danger of being culled, so we took her. She is a very funny girl and enjoys supervised yard time where she hops around trying to catch bugs.

Busty Rhonda

Busty was one of our original girls, along with Shirley & Sandy Duncan. She's very docile and agreeable. Never causes trouble!

Shirley

Shirley is the alpha. Bosses everyone around and if there is a cricket or small bug found, SHE always gets to it first.

Alice

Alice is a Plymouth Barred Rock chicken, and tends to congregate with Karen & Flo, but she is also a bit of a loner. She also likes to bully smaller critters so we have to keep an eye on her...

Flo

Flo arrived with Karen & Alice, and after a while she became broody, so we had a friend give us a fertile egg so she could get the full "mama" experience. Pictured with her is Natalie, her adopted daughter.

Lois & General Zod

In Sept 2025, we took in 2 baby turkeys. One had a deformed neck (a condition known as "rye neck" and so we wanted to make sure she had a fair chance at life. So far so good and these 2 seem quite happy, especially to get yard time.
